Why it is called NexGen

I grew up around this work. My father has been in construction his whole working life, more than twenty-five years of it, doing exterior remodeling. His company is still running today. So I did not arrive at any of this from the outside.

What I did see, once I was old enough to pay attention, was how the companies themselves were built. Not the craft. The craft was usually fine. It was everything around it: crews sent to three jobs at once, homeowners chasing someone for an update, prices that moved after the contract was signed, work handed off to people who had never seen the property. Good tradespeople inside businesses that did not seem to care very much.

NexGen is named for the thing I wanted to fix. The next generation of this trade, done by people who care what the job looks like after we leave. That is why the boring parts matter to us as much as the finished photo does: one crew per job, a price that holds, and somebody who answers when you call.

Where the pavers part came from

A few years ago we took a trip to Italy for my father's fifty-fifth birthday. I spent a lot of that trip looking down. Streets, piazzas, courtyards, all of it laid in individual units, some of it centuries old and still perfectly serviceable. Here we pour a slab, watch it crack, break it out and pour another one. I could not find a good answer for that. Not a structural one, not a soil one. Concrete is just what people know, and it is cheaper on day one.

Where we are now

NexGen Remodeling & Building was founded in 2024. My father is the other owner and holds our licence, CSLB #1127800, which you are welcome to verify yourself. His own exterior remodeling company, our sister company, has been running for years, so the experience behind this one did not start in 2024 even though the name did.

Today there are nine of us in the office handling production, project management, scheduling and HOA submittals, plus the crews we work with on the ground across Los Angeles County, the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita and Ventura County.

The People Behind NexGen

There are nine of us in the office. Between them they handle production and project management, scheduling crews and materials, arranging the meetings, and working through HOA and architectural submittals, which in communities like Calabasas and Westlake Village has to start well before anyone breaks ground.

The person who walks your property is the person who scopes your project. They are not handing you off to somebody you have not met, and they stay attached to the job through to the final walkthrough. If something needs sorting out afterwards, you are calling someone who stood in your yard, not a call centre.

Our licence is held by Eli's father, who has spent more than twenty-five years in construction and co-owns the company. Every project gets scoped against that experience, which is the difference between a quote built from a template and a quote built from your actual grade, soil and access.

On the ground we work with crews we have used long enough to vouch for. We typically run three to four at once across Southern California and hold to one crew per job, so your project has a dedicated team that stays until the work is finished rather than disappearing to another site halfway through.
